Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LearnXia handles personal information when you use the LearnXia mobile application, website, learning tools, tutor marketplace, parent features, communications and related services (together, the “Services”). It applies to students, parents or guardians, tutors and website visitors.

LearnXia is designed around role-based experiences. The information used and visible within the Services depends on your role and the connections you choose to establish.

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Account and identity information: name, email address, phone number, authentication details, selected role and account status.
• Profile and education information: profile photo, grade, learning medium, subjects, exam type, academic stream, learning goals and preferences.
• Parent and learner connections: relationship information, invitations, approvals, connected-student identifiers and parent-control settings.
• Tutor information: tutor profile, teaching subjects, languages, rates, availability, qualifications, verification documents, ratings and reviews.
• Learning information: study plans, daily missions, quiz and exam attempts, answers, scores, progress, weak areas, AI-tool inputs and generated study content.
• Marketplace and session information: learning requests, tutor offers, schedules, session status, learning materials, messages, reviews and reports.
• Transactions and subscriptions: plan, purchase and payment status, transaction references, billing history and limited payment-method details. Full card credentials are generally processed by the selected payment provider rather than stored by LearnXia.
• Device and usage information: device type, device identifier, active-session information, notification token, app interactions, diagnostics and approximate location inferred for account-security displays.
• Support information: messages and attachments you send when asking for help, reporting a problem or contacting us.

We use personal information to provide and improve the Services, including to:

• create and secure accounts, verify access and maintain active sessions;
• personalise study plans, subjects, learning medium and progress insights;
• generate AI-assisted quizzes, explanations, summaries, flashcards and practice questions;
• match students with tutors and support requests, offers, scheduling, sessions and reviews;
• connect parents or guardians with learners and provide permitted oversight;
• process subscriptions, tutoring payments, refunds and transaction records;
• deliver study, session, message, payment and account notifications;
• prevent misuse, enforce our terms, investigate reports and protect users; and
• respond to support requests and meet legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.

When you use an AI study tool, the topic, prompt, selected options and relevant learning context are processed to produce the requested output. Generated content and recent generations may be stored with your account so you can revisit them and so LearnXia can measure plan-based usage.

AI-generated learning content can be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not include passwords, financial details, government identifiers or other unnecessary sensitive information in an AI prompt. Always use appropriate human judgment for important academic decisions.

We do not sell personal information to third-party advertisers. We may share information only as needed for the Services:

• With people you connect with: relevant profile, request, offer, session and progress information may be visible to tutors, students or linked parents according to the feature and privacy settings.
• With service providers: vendors that support authentication, cloud hosting, databases, file storage, notifications, analytics, AI processing, purchases, payments and customer support.
• With payment or mobile-service providers: app stores, payment processors or mobile network operators when you choose their purchase, payment or OTP flows.
• For safety or legal reasons: where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, comply with law or respond to a valid legal request.
• In a business transaction: if LearnXia is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

LearnXia includes linked parent or guardian accounts and controls intended to support younger learners. Where consent from a parent or guardian is required by applicable law, that consent must be provided before the child uses the relevant parts of the Services.

Connected parents may see learning progress, quiz results, tutoring requests, offers, sessions, payments and other updates permitted by the connection and privacy settings. Some communications may remain restricted to protect learner privacy and safety.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Within LearnXia, you can edit profile information, manage profile visibility and messaging preferences, control progress and activity sharing, change notification categories, review active devices, sign out other sessions and request account deletion. You may also contact us for help with a privacy request.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain account and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards, including authenticated access and role-based controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong password, protect one-time codes and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate measures designed to protect information during international transfers.

We may update this Policy as LearnXia changes or legal requirements evolve. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where required.
